SILVERDALE - At the start of every new month, all the students that had perfect attendance get rewarded. At Ridgetop Middle School, all students with no absences for the previous month are called to the cafeteria. As a reward, the students are given ice cream and are allowed to talk to their friends. The students find the table with their last name and receive a certificate stating that they had perfect attendance for that month. They then receive their ice cream sandwich bar. Students do not get to go back to ASH (Academic Study Hall), but instead they are allowed to stay in the cafeteria the whole time and talk to their friends. Because of winter break, the last attendance ceremony Ridgetop Middle School had was for both November and December. The next ceremony will be at the beginning of February. This party could motivate kids to come to school because they get free ice cream and time to talk to people they like. They also get a certificate, which may make the child proud they have had perfect attendance. Comments are closed.
