SILVERDALE--Students in Mrs. Robinson’s 8th grade Honors Washington State history class are mixing it up by teaching the class May 31st through June 10th. Each group has been assigned to a different chapter to teach the class with a variety of different activities. The students take their turns teaching the class including an introduction, content, collaboration, fun, and assessment as part of the chapter to gain knowledge on the lesson. Meanwhile, Mrs. Robinson assesses how well they taught the class as a teacher to the rest of the class and how hard they worked. The Student-led lessons have been a success to the classroom, and many of the students are enjoying the collaborative discussions and fun activities. “I’ve learned a lot from my fellow students and my favorite part of the class period is when we play a kahoot made by the groups,” says eighth grader Maggie Cole.
