By Shea Kabelac and Mason Nolen SILVERDALE--The Raiders track and field team faced off against crosstown rivals the Central Kitsap Cubs on April 26, ending in their first loss this season. The Raiders fought hard in all the events such as the 100m run, javelin throw, hurdles, and all sorts of relay races but in the end, they came up short. “We did good, but you can't win every time,” said eighth grader Shaun Seko. Some of the biggest highlights of the meet came from Seth Tower who jumped 5’2” on the high jump. That's high enough to jump over some of our students! He also got 59.9 seconds on his 400m for varsity. For those of you who don't know, 400m is a whole lap around the track. Also multiple athletes broke their own personal records at this meet. “I got 4’2” on the high jump, hopefully I can get at least 4’4” by the end of the year,” said eighth grader Victoria Ramey.
On May 4, the track and field team is set to face off against both Marcus Whitman and Poulsbo Middle School at South Kitsap High School. Comments are closed.
